Hola from Guatemala!

Another cuppa Joe from Trader Joe’s
5 OctThanks once again to a sample at the tasting bar, I’ve added a new coffee to my list of faves from Trader Joe’s.
Trader Joe’s Dark Sumatra coffee is a delicious roast. The taste is closer to espresso than breakfast blend. Smooth, full of the caffeine we depend on in the morning and packed with the depth of flavor we hope for in every cup of Joe. This is a coffee to keep high on the shopping list!
Thank you, Trader Joe’s!

Dark chocolate espresso beans: Shhh! Don’t tell anyone!
21 SepThese might be the best. office. treats. ever. (At least, according to the enthusiasm of my coworkers.)
They liked these so much on Monday, that I’m bringing more to end the week. It’s a surprise. A sugary, stimulating slice of heaven.
These are certifiably D-licious: large espresso beans covered with thick, dark chocolate.
A treat so good, it’s like getting your allowance twice in one week; scoring a front row seat at a Broadway show; finding out that the treasure map on the back of the cereal box is real.
Reward yourself and anyone you like with a box of D. chocolate E. beans. You deserve it.
Thank you, Trader Joe’s!

Wake up and smell the fairness
27 AugAnother great TJ’s coffee discovery (thanks to the coffee tasting bar): Fair Trade Five Country Espresso.
I like many of the coffees I taste at Trader Joe’s, but I’m always looking for French Roast’s rivals. For me, this is a close cousin – maybe French Roast’s aunt’s kid on her mother’s side. That close.
Sipping a cup of “5C” is a great way to start the day, or end an evening…made even better when paired with a brownie bite or two, perhaps?
Have a great day and the start of a great week, everyone!
Thank you, Trader Joe’s.

The hypnotic allure of Italian Roast coffee
13 AprTrader Joe’s always has the coffee on.
There are many beans to choose from at Trader Joe’s, and only one industrial-sized grinder. I’m a French Roast aficionado and long for TJ’s version when it’s not near. However…
The Italian Roast will tide me over nicely. Very nicely. Bold flavor; rich aroma. The bouquet that takes you back to the old country, you can almost hear hooves clopping on cobble stones, feel the ocean breeze from the Aegean cliffs, gaze skyward and see the cobwebs collecting in the corners of your ceiling…but you couldn’t care less.
Each sip is so inspiring, it will release the hackneyed advertising copywriter inside of you, as your brain reels with cheesy metaphor and clichéd imagery.
Ah, molto bene to the last drop!
Thank you, TJ’s!

Price check: Coffee filters
12 AprI was at one of my favorite everything-under-one-roof stores when I thought, “Hey, I could go ahead and just get my coffee filters here. Cross it off my TJ’s list.” And then I thought, “I wonder if there’s a big difference in price – same type of filters; two different stores?”
And, lo, yes there was.
Price check for 100 #2 brown coffee filters
Favorite everything-under-one-roof store price: $3.19
